WB Key Cards Give You One More Way to Show Your Nerd Colors At Comic-Con

If you're into enhancing everyday objects with a nice, geeky sheen – and let's face it, if you're reading this, you probably are – then you're in luck. Or at least, you might be, if you're going to Comic-Con this year and you're staying at the right place.

For the fifth year now, the WB is putting out special hotel key cards promoting their fall line-up:

The Studio has once again created a set of limited-edition collectible hotel keycards, which will be in use at top hotels throughout the San Diego area during Comic-Con 2012. This marks the fifth consecutive year for the popular room key program, giving fans instant access to a usable — and collectible — piece of artwork.

Over 40,000 branded room keys will be available to fans at 38 participating San Diego–area hotels.

There are three different card designs, each for a new series coming this fall. There's 666 Park Avenue, an ABC drama from the production company behind Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries, and Gossip Girl, about a young couple who lands a too-good-to-be-true gig managing an apartment building with some presumably demonic secrets; Arrow, the CW series about Green Arrow, with producers from Green Lantern, Smallville, and Fringe; and Revolution, a show being backed by the likes of J.J. Abrams and Jon Favreau, about a family in a post-apocalyptic world where all technology has completely died.

The artwork looks cool and I think the WB have done a good job of choosing shows that will specifically appeal to the Comic-Con crowd. I know I'm lamenting that my exceptionally budget hotel will probably not be on the list of 38 "top hotels" who will be handing out the cards.

Perhaps someone with a 666 card will get sucked into another dimension like the poor fellow in this 666 Park Avenue trailer, and leave their card behind for me to collect.
