Daniel Radcliffe To Star In Adaptation Of Joe Hill's Horns

The pilot episode of Locke & Key may be sleeping with the fishes, but at least we can look forward to another adaptation of Joe Hill's writing. As we reported last year, the film version of Hill's novel Horns is in the hands of horror director Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, The Hills Have Eyes), and now the film has found its leading man.

Continuing down the horror road after the modest success of The Woman in Black, Daniel Radcliffe has been cast as Ig Perrish, a man who wakes up one morning to find his girlfriend raped and murdered. To make matters worse, he has acquired a pair of rather unsightly horns on his head that have the power to influence people and also grant Ig a dose of psychic mojo. In contrast to The Woman in Black's classic Victorian ghost story, Horns is both brutal and sexy, and its protagonist is more of an anti-hero than he is a hero. This may well be a further move on Radcliffe's part to shed his child-star image of the conquering good guy from Harry Potter.

Regardless of how you feel about the casting decision, Joe Hill's story on the big screen is definitely something to look forward to. According to the article over at The Hollywood Reporter, Horns is expected to begin principal photography in the autumn, so expect more casting announcements soon.
