30 Thoughts About 30 Of Today's Comics – How Many Did You Read?
So what have you been reading this week?
In Back To The Future #3… sadly this is not George McFly getting rather angry that his son, Marty McFly, named after that guy his wife dated in high school briefly, looks just like him…. bt we do get a clever Rocky Horror Back To The Future Show skit out of it.
From Robin Hood And Arsenal. You will like Joker's Daughter, you will. They are going to make you. And there's more of a back story yet to be told…Turtlenecks would be good for hiding super suits underneath. Does Amazing Spider-Man reveal a secret truth about the late Steve Jobs? Could he have been the real Phoenix Jones?
I have just googled "glornords" and there are no results. I guess this article may be the only one if you try it yourself. For about five minutes. And no, not even I am buying the domain name, feel free, it's all yours. And expect a Guardians Of The Gornords any day now.
It's not the crime that takes you down in the USA, it's not paying the tax on its proceeds… Deadpool knows its financial history. Although not everyone knows that Deadool is pansexual, it seems. Those booty call odds are increasing…
Negan does have a certain turn of phrase in The Walking Dead #149 doesn't he? There's no way Glenn could have died in the TV show with his inevitable showdown with Negan coming…. whatever happens.
Monstress retains the complexity and character of the first issue, weaving a plot as intricate as the pencilwork. And does a fine line in innuendo of imagery…
Insexts #1 is, I'm going to say, a tad more explicit than I was expecting when I started reading. With the graphic sexual horror scenes are we sure this is an Aftershock title and not an Avatar Press in disguise? This is one of the sweeter scenes…
And reminded me slightly of this scene in Gwenpool Holiday Special as well. After all, Gwen's costume is just as tight. But other Gwen Stacys have their own concerns…
Or, you know, not to have a life at all anymore. Radioactive Spider-Gwen's 616 World Problems.
Ones that Unity #25's all-humour final issue written and illustrated by tons of different creators including the above from Michael Kupperman might address, if she were so in the mood.
While Snow Blind #1 looks at some actual problems not caused by jumping from dimension to dimension to discover you were the lucky one who didn't die.
Or very real problems with Violent #1 and a very few solutions, all of them bringing more problems than they solve…
Which is probably the reaction. No Mercy #5 get the Shouty Award Of The Day and it's well deserved.
While Massive: The Ninth Wave #1 prefers actions to words…
And Trees #13 as lots of clever people standing around talking – and then blowing everything possible up in sight, including thise neat "taking the war where it isn't quite meant to be yet" panel. Kicksplode…
And then Holy F*ck #4 takes all those problems any combines them, kinda…
Bunker also has a certain turn of phrase that's hard to dismiss. Maybe Trump should try the above, just to test the water.
Justice League: Darkseid War: Lex Luthor looks at power, what Lex Luthor would claim about Superman's use of power contrasted with what he would do with it given the chance. And, as the comic points out, it's not like he's not had the chance. He's not one to learn from mistakes…
Which is why he's bound to join these guys in Munchkin: Deck The Dungeons.
I'm more impressed that anyone in the younger cast of Giant Days #9 has even seen Ferris Bueller...
Yeah, but vampires don't exercise their muscles either. Adventure Time #47 reflects my own shade tendencies very nicely.
While the Mickey and Donald Christmas Parade takes away the sun's heat all together!
In Alabaster Shadows by Matt Gardner and Rashad Doucet, classmate Harley explains that you don't need school to learn important stuff. And that no matter how sketchy the art style, the logo will always look pin sharp.
Ninjak #10 kicks off the first chapter of the Operation Deadside storyarc that brings Shadowman back to the Valiant Universe. Or, you know, Shadowsomeone. Either way, welcome to the future of Uber. Because that's not a dog.
And in Brooklyn Animal Control, neither is that.
Symmetry #1 presents a boon for the insurance industry.
Dammit, Hal, he's a Starfleet captain, not a Yellow Lantern! Star Trek/Green Lantern #6 seem to encounter an anomaly…
We know beards are evil. But what about stubble? Has it ever been measured on a morality scale of 1 to 10? Star Trek #52 takes a look in the mirror.
Something that can cost you dear in beautician expenses if you try it in The Eighth Seal #1.
