What Nick Spencer Thinks Is One Of The Most Appealing Things About Being A Comic Writer

Aspiring comic writer turned politician turned successful comic writer Nick Spencer has sat down to answer some questions for the first Ask Marvel of the new year. Spencer, whose first published work Existence 2.0 came out through Jim Valentino's Shadowline imprint at Image, has made quite a name for himself at Marvel having written Iron Man, Avengers, Ant-Man and Captain America. He also got to spend some time writing his favorite character, Spider-Man.

The questions are pretty typical including the one all writer's hate to get: "Where do you get your ideas / What do you do when you run out of ideas?" That's the first question he has to deal with and as he finishes reading the question, pause the video. Look into his eyes… that's seething hatred right there. I wouldn't ask him that on the last day of a bad convention… not if you want to live.

Now the second question about who is the hardest Marvel character to develop… now that's a good question. And as you watch, you can see he was definitely a politician.
