The official synopsis for the title reads:

"From Santa Monica Studio and creative director Cory Barlog comes a new beginning for God of War. Living as a man outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar lands, unexpected threats, and a second chance at being a father. Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the brutal Norse wilds and fight to fulfill a deeply personal quest."

Check out the story trailer:

Chris Judge (Stargate) is voicing Kratos in this title, and Sunny Suljic is voicing Kratos's son Atreus. Judge has said this game was a dream come true for him, visibly bouncing up and down when talking about it.

Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary is helming the score for this chapter of Kratos's life, as was revealed during E3 2016 with a performance of a suite from the game. "This is the first trailer I've seen that comes close to capturing the spirit of how epic this game is. Very excited," McCreary said about this new trailer.

God of War is available now for pre order, and is due out on April 20th exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
