Comixology Bestseller List – 3rd August 2018 – Uber On The Rise

Welcome to the Comixology Bestseller list, your guide to see how well your favorite titles are selling digitally. Every week I'll post the ranking of every new title, plus a ranking of the best selling volumes & graphic novels. As always, I hope you find it interesting and informative.

Now that there's no wedding to compete with, The Walking Dead takes back its usual spot at No. 1. The score is very close this week, but thanks to an assist by last week's Doomsday Clock, DC pulls out the win with 5 books in the Top 10, compared to Marvel's 4 and Image's 1. Now granted, DC still dominated the top half of the Top 10, but the fact that is Marvel getting a healthy number of titles in on a regular basis is a big improvement.

Marvel's Infinity Wars event has officially begun, and while it was able to hit No. 6 in its debut, its placement is the far cry from the…..  wait, didn't I talk about this last week?

Yeah, it started last week with Infinity Wars Prime #1. Or did it? What's the rule on this? Regardless, Infinity Wars is no Justice League: No Justice or Dark Nights Metal, but it still packs a punch.

Super Sons returns this week, but it's not Super Sons. It's Adventures of Super Sons #1, a 12-Issue series set before the recent Man of Steel. And while Titans and Teen Titans came back after a hiatus with no change in their usual positions, The Adventures of Super Sons dropped 5 spots from its previous incarnation. Which begs the question: why couldn't this series keep its name and numbering? It's not the first DC title to take place at different time than another ongoing book (unless Amanda Waller is giving Harley Quinn long breaks from the Suicide Squad for her solo series).

Indie watch: Kieron Gillen's Uber: Invasion has been climbing up the ladder all year, starting in the 40s and now hitting No. 27 on the new issue rankings. It's gaining readers at a fast rate, and if it keeps up this pace, it will soon be competing with the other indie elites. Rick Remender's Seven to Eternity returned after a year-long hiatus, landing at No. 22 in New Issues. Ann Nocenti's The Seeds had a good debut at No. 28, with John Layman's Leviathan hitting No. 33.
