'Young Justice: Outsiders' s3e6 "Rescue Op": No One Listens to Dick [SPOILER RECAP]

Welcome back to Bleeding Cool's weekly recap of DC Universe's Young Justice: Outsiders, as we jump right in with our look at the season's sixth episode, 'Rescue Op':

Al-Qawiya. August 5.

Jaqqar Marlo spills out of a back-alley nightclub, playing the AR game that everyone is playing using the Goode VR goggles. He is confronted by Black Spider, an assassin with the League of Shadows, who tells Marlo that this is his last night. Marlo flees, losing Black Spider. Thinking he has escaped, Marlo steps from his hiding place and is promptly crushed by a boulder falling from above. Black Spider tells another shadowy figure that the boss–that all the bosses–will be pleased.

Happy Harbor.

Forager is introduced to Halo and Brion. Halo, recently introduced to apples, is thrilled to share her with Forager. Brion is excited to meet a "real alien" (because apparently Miss Martian and Conner don't count). The team tries to figure out what to do with another stray; neither Tigress nor M'ann and Conner have room to take in another person. M'gann offers the Bio Ship to Brion and Forager, turning it into an RV.

Dick arrives with intel from Oracle about Marlo's death. Jeff calls Dr. Jace, who suggests that since both Brion and Bedlam have geoforce abilities, that it would make sense that Tara would as well. Brion wants to go after Tara and free her from the League of Shadows immediately, but Dick points out that one does not simply walk onto Infinity Island – and not just because it's…you know…an island. Infinity Island is the home of Ra's al Ghul and the League, so they need a plan before barging in. Brion reluctantly agrees.

Inside the Bio Ship, Brion calls Jace again and lies to her, saying that the team has decided to go after Tara. Halo and Forager state that they will go and help: they are a "hive" now. Halo asks the New Genesphere to take them to Infinity Island.

Oracle contacts Dick with another bit of intel. The League's computer has identified Halo as Gabrielle Daou, a Quraci servant working in the Markovian Royal Palace. The gang goes to tell her, only to find that the others have disobeyed the order to stay put and headed to Infinity Island.

Upon landing on Infinity Island, Forager and Halo discuss name, aliases, and mission code names. Halo decides to take the name Violet, which Brion called her in the previous episode when her purple aura healed her. Brion senses something is wrong. Dick said the island would be full of assassins, but the only one here is an old man whose meditation they disrupt.

Brion demands the sensei release Tara, but the old man says she's not here. Brion attacks, but is bested by the elder, who is supported by a pair of warriors. The old man snaps Halo's neck, subdues the rest, and locks them in a cell. Brion is overcome by guilt, his rash actions leading to Halo's death. Halo does the purple aura trick and resurrects again. Ra's al Ghul watches this from a security monitor, intrigued.

The team arrives and busts Brion, Halo, Forager, and New Genesphere out of the cell. The team fights their way to the island courtyard, where Ra's al Ghul meets them. Ra's tells Dick to take his friends and go. Brion says they're not leaving without Tara. Ra's states that she may be working for the League, but he wouldn't know. He is no longer leader of the League of Shadows nor a member of the Light. Brion calls Ra's a liar, but Dick corrects him. Ra's may be a lot of things, but he's not a liar.

As the team leaves, we get a glimpse of Talia and an infant Damien. One of the warriors recognizes Dick, to which Ra's states that the warrior in a red mask and hood is finally starting to get his memory back.

Jason Todd, perhaps?

Aboard the Bio Ship, Brion apologizes – though Conner points out that this kind of thing happens a lot and Dick emphasizes it can't happen again. The group discusses Brion, Halo, and Forager joining the Justice League – but Brion points out that they're not the kind that would fit in with the League. Brion, Halo, and Forager can team up and operate outside of the League together – and suddenly… Dick finds himself leading a new team again!

Tigress reveals Halo's name to her, hoping it might stir her memory. Halo remembers the way she was bullied when she fled to Markovia and states that she is not Gabrielle now, no matter what she might have once been. She is Violet.
