Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds Plug Each Other's Products Epically

It's no secret Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds developed a relationship of sorts since 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and now, plugging each other's own products.

X-men Origins: Wolverine was released at the height of Jackman's popularity as Wolverine in the X-Men film franchise, and also marks Reynold's debut as Wade Wilson/Deadpool. Despite mixed reviews, one of the biggest criticisms was the film's depiction of Deadpool allowing Reynolds to only exhibit the character's personality at the start of the film while becoming an emotionless final villain Wolverine has to fight at its end.

Since 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, undoing much of the existing canon with the Bryan Singer and Brett Ratner films. With the reset, came a fresh start for Deadpool with the 2016 film and Reynolds reprising his role as "The Merc with the Mouth." While enjoying a career resurgence with the overwhelming positive reception to Deadpool, Jackman was on the way out with Wolverine retiring in 2017's Logan.

Reynolds took the time in the 2016 film and its sequel Deadpool 2(2018) to air his past superhero grievances with allusions the 2009 Wolverine film and 2011's Green Lantern for DC. Guess he didn't feel too bad about Blade: Trinity. The grievances were far more blatant in the sequel with Deadpool taking Cable's (Josh Brolin) time travelling device to shoot 2009's Deadpool execution-style splicing himself in the climactic scene of Origin's final battle. Deadpool also ends up killing 2011 Reynolds as he picks up the script for Green Lantern.

Clearly, Jackman's decision to retire as Wolverine during the peaking Deadpool ruffled Reynolds' feathers as he engaged on a social media "feud" subtley trying to coax him back into the adamantium claws one more time to have a Deadpool-Wolverine film.

While Jackman made his intention's final, the two paired up to promote each other's brands in a social media "truce." Reynolds promotes Jackman's Laughing Man Coffee. Reynolds provides a professional, high-quality and overwhelmingly positive video with a voiceover, which caught Jackman off guard. When it became his turn to promote Reynolds' Aviation Gin, Jackman didn't mince words about Reynolds and his gin. He sat down, opened the bottle on the table and proceeded to dump much of the contents by laying the bottle on its side. It is a brutal twist of the dagger.

What do you think of the ad? Why do you think Jackman doesn't do more comedy?
