Freyja's Last Stand? War of the Realms #4 Preview

War of the Realms has been a very fast-paced super-mega-crossover event, and by fast paced, we mean they're really killing off characters like nobody's business. Normally, super-mega-crossover events work in one to three deaths throughout the event. One in the beginning to show things are serious, maybe one in the middle to keep readers on their toes as sales attrition kicks in, and then one at the end to launch the Fallen Hero spinoff series and eventual Hero Rebirth return. But War of the Realms literally killed all of the Valkyries in the first issue, as well as Odin and Loki (though, technically, they got better pretty quickly).

But in this preview of War of the Realms #4, it looks like we could be getting ready to see Thor's mom, Freyja, kick the bucket.

Freyja must hold the black bifrost so that all of the Strikeforce teams starring in their own spinoffs have a way to get back home when the event is over. But Malekith's army is bearing down on her, and her only ally left is She-Hulk… and Freyja doesn't even want her to stick around!

It looks like Freyja could be planning to make the ultimate sacrifice. Her life, in exchange for a short-term sales boost.

Will Freyja survive?

War of the Realms #4 hits stores on Wednesday, and hopefully then we'll find out.
