Discord Open To Working With Nintendo If They Want To

If you're a Nintendo Switch player who is frequently online, chances are you want a better voice chat service like Discord on the console. Primarily because their current setup is an app on your phone that you use to connect to others using that same app, and not just using a service through Nintendo Switch Online, which is a pain and can be a drain on your mobile services if you don't have wifi. But to date, apps like Discord are not available for use. But there's a glimmer of hope if Nintendo is interested, as Discord recently responded to a Twitter post saying they would be open to the idea of having their app on the Switch if Nintendo gave their "blessing".

If the app was actually made available on the Switch, that would solve so many problems when it comes to chatting with people in games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Overcooked 2, Splatoon 2, and more. We've tried using Nintendo's own app and its often a complicated mess that sometimes drops your connection. It would be really lovely to have Discord integration on the console as opposed to sitting at your computer with the same setup, which is something I do frequently myself. We'll see if the two can come together. I mean… E3 is in a month and they'll both be in the same building with figureheads who could make deals or at least get the conversation started. Just saying…
