There's an Even Rarer D23 Marvel Comics #1000 Variant Out There – Somewhere…

Bleeding Cool has been informed that aside from the D23 Mickey Mouse variant cover of Marvel Comics #1000 that was given out at the Marvel panel at D23, with a number of comic stores then getting one copy per store (if they were lucky), it turns out that there's another version of the cover by Humberto Ramos out there.

It transpires that copies with a Black and White variant version of that cover were handed out to specially chosen fans at the show for going 'above and beyond' in their fandom. A little like the True Believers variants we reported on previously.

However, no copies have gone on eBay. Yet. It's like the question about whether a tree that falls in the woods makes any noise if there is no one there to hear it. Can a variant cover truly be said to exist if no one is trying to flog it for a thousand bucks. However, comic stores, it might be worth enquiring of your most dedicated Marvel Comics fans who went to D23 if they got a little something… extra.

And while we don't have a copy to provide visual reference for, using ou special technical knowhow we manage to simulate what such a comic book might look like.
