Rod Fergusson Departs The Coalition For Activision-Blizzard

A little industry news this week as Gears of War series producer Rod Fergusson announced that he is leaving the development studio The Coalition. Fergusson made the announcement on Twitter, which you can see below, letting fans know he was headed to Activision-Blizzard to work on the Diablo franchise.

Considering that Gears 5 is pretty much done aside from whatever DLC additions they have planned for the game, and Diablo IV is getting ready to be released probably either late this year or sometime in 2021, the move makes sense. He's done all he can at one place and is now headed off to work on what we can assume is a dream title for him elsewhere. It'll be interesting to see what he has planned there, but the reality is we won't know until the game is released and we find out what everyone's projects were.
