Comixology Bestseller List – 12th October 2018 – Brian Bendis' Superman Tops The Charts

Welcome to the Comixology Bestseller list, your guide to see how well your favorite titles are selling digitally. Every week I'll post the ranking of every new title, plus a ranking of the best selling volumes & graphic novels. As always, I hope you find it interesting and informative.

A very tight Top 10 battle this week, but in the end, Marvel pulls out the victory 6-4 over DC. For all the comments I got below over the months proclaiming Marvel wouldn't be able to keep the numbers of Fresh Start up, they've done exactly that. Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America are still prospering after noteworthy boosts. But the real success story belongs to Immortal Hulk and Venom, still holding on to their positions 7 issues in after raising roughly 20 spots from their Legacy incarnations. Speaking of relaunches still flying high, the hype for Brian Michael Bendis's Superman has not died down. And with no Fantastic Four to compete against this week, the Man of Tomorrow soars to the No. 1 spot.

Spider-Geddon is only starting now? That's what many Marvel customers believe, because Spider-Geddon #1 has landed in the Top 10, with much better numbers than the lukewarm reception than Edge of Spider-Geddon and Spider-Geddon #0 got. So commenters, let me ask: when does an event actually start for you? With the Prime, Countdown, Edge of, Alpha or #0 Issue? Or the #1 Issue containing only the event title?

The popularity of the new Justice League  has a wide reach: Wonder Woman got a much-needed boost this week thanks to the Witching Hour crossover with Justice League Dark, jumping ahead of The Flash and Titans. Wonder Woman had been dropping throughout the year (albeit very slowly), so it was smart move for DC to give the title some momentum before handing it off to G. Willow Wilson on a regular basis next month.

And finally, if you've ever been curious about one of the longest and best selling comics currently ongoing, The Walking Dead Compendiums are at a big discount until Sunday. Each containing 48 issues at $13 each, that works out to roughly 29 cents an issue. So whether you're fed up with the direction the TV show has taken or just want some something exciting to binge read, I would wholeheartedly recommend this series, especially at this price.
