At the weekend, I discovered how plans for Mitch Jenkins and Alan Moore's Show Pieces movie forced Hewlett Packard closed down one of their product lines.

I'm not sure which one.  Was it HP abandoning PCs and tablets in 2011? Or 2012's abandoning Windows 8 tablet plans?  Or in 2013 abandoning in house tablets?

At the Kickstarter Backer Premiere of Show Pieces in London this weekend, Alan Moore and talked about the teething troubles funding the films, and claimed responsibility for one of them.

Alan Moore: At one point this was supposed to be a film to be premiered as an app at that point we were involved with Hewlett Packard

Mitch Jenkins: Hewlett Packard were going to fund the film and then  turning it into an interactive thing and then they brought out this tablet, it was crap, the reality was that the guys went away to test it to see if the app would work and they came back and said you've produced something rubbish based o using it , and subsequently wouldn't give us any money

Alan Moore: It was our project that made them realise their technology was crap and sent them completely out of the hardware business.

Mitch Jenkins: It's true.

Alan Moore: I feel quite proud about that in a way.

Alan Moore there, responsible for the destruction of hardware.
