Monday Trending Topics: The Best Of Times, The Worst Of TimesA lot of people are pointing out the puzzle of the conflicting signals the business of comics is sending out today, and it's pretty hard to ignore: recent days have brought us extremely successful comic book conventions, yet notable comic shop closures. Monthly industry numbers have continued to trend down this year, yet now comes word that the New 52 could be a chartbreaker.

When the sparkline monitor starts going crazy, marking out a furious sequence of big highs and lows, one obvious conclusion to be drawn is that a major disruption is here. It's possible that the actions of the next several months spell the difference between the return of healthy pulse and flatline.  Are there retail, publishing, and creator doctors in the house?
