Project Marvel Nets 27 Firearms, $110,000 And 395 Criminal Charges

It may not be the best publicity Marvel Comics could have received. But you know that line about there being no bad publicity?

The Toronto police held a press conference today showing off the spoils from a series of raids on Toronto gang members yesterday, dubbed Project Marvel because said gang members liked to use superhero nicknames from Marvel Comics. riggered by gang violence, 900 officers searched 67 locations, taking in 27 firearms, $110,000 in cash and making 395 criminal charges for 60 individuals including ten young offenders. More is expected  to come.

So, if nothing else, Marvel does seem to be getting an audience away from the image of the traditional comic book geek. But I'm just wondering about how long and hard the fights were to be called Wolverine? And who had to settle for Batroc The Leaper?
