Three Friday Purchases – A Mansion, A Publisher Or Some Artwork

1. Comic Book Distributor Mansion, Could Be Used To Train Mutants.

Owner of Diamond Comics Distribution Steve Geppi's former home failed to sell at auction, and was bought back by the mortgage lender Bank of America for $2,800,000.

The property was bought by the Geppis in 2004 for $4,800,000, though they defaulted on the mortgage over a year ago, amid unpaid bills and other personal debts, including a judgement for $14,800,000 made against him also just over a year ago over defaults over a number of waterfront property investments and a further $3,000,000 bank loan which was defaulted around the same time.

The auction began at $3,700,000 but the bank made the only offer in the auction.

2. Mysterious Manga Publisher.

Can anyone identify this Californian manga publisher started in 2006 with 2 employees on the block for $300,000?

UPDATE: It's Aurora Publications, US offshoot of Japanese manga publisher Ohzora.

3. Civil Wardrobe Artwork

After receiving huge amounts of traffic, Bevis Musson has decided to sell this piece of artwork from my Civil War parody of a few years ago. The massive interest may have something to do with the title of the piece, Jailbait Avengers. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time…
