British Comic Creators Working For American Publishers Just Got A Pay Rise

A quick international politics lesson for Americans. Britain is to hold a referendum on whether or not it should leave the European Union. Some heavyweight politicians in the country such as London Mayor Boris Johnson and ex-MP and broadcaster George Galloway, on opposite sides of the political fence, have both come out for the Leave camp.

So when markets opened yesterday, the inevitable happened. The pound crashed against the dollar. It was bad news.

But pretty good news for British comic book creators working for the Americans. For the last few years we have seen the pound fall against the dollar but this week has seen a spectacular drop.

957What that means for British comic book creators is a greater pay packet when the cheque finally clears.

Although it also brings pressure on the cost of distributing American comic books in the UK. So British comic book buyers? Prepare for an uptick in prices any day now…
