Clark Kent's Kidnap and Jimmy Olsen's Call of Shame – 11 Page Preview Of Superman: Leviathan Rising

This Wednesday, alongside the release of Doomsday Clock #10 and Heroes In Crisis #9 we also get Superman: Leviathan Rising #1,  a multi-story anthology that all ties into the rise of the new Leviathan organisation and how it affects Superman and those around him. We'll be getting new Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen series spinning out of it, but here are eleven pages of previews along with a few spoilers for added measure.

Let's take this apart.

The cover has a Superman bound by a Kryptonite vest, held by Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen with the Justice League coming for help. This does not appear to happen in this comic book but thematically…

It begins with the kidnap of Clark Kent.

But how could one kidnap Clark Kent when he is already Superman, the cry goes out. Well, that's where this comic book goes.

With Superman heading towards his apartment after Leviathan has spoken to a certain underworld crime boss Ms Leone about hos just one would deal with Superman. And getting the suggestion that rather than kidnap the very dangerous Lois Lane, one might turn to another of his friends, the oafish, clumsy, much-less-of-a-threat Clark Kent…

But what danger is his in? Why can't he escape? What leads Lois Lane to clearly call the Justice League? Well, again it's that cover… Clark Kent is the bait for Superman. So wrapping Clark Kent in a Kryptonite belt should not harm Kent but would harm Superman…

Although, Clark Kent without his glasses… has no one noticed the obvious? Meanwhile, over in the hotels and casinos of Gorilla City, Jimmy Olsen has found himself waking up with another beautiful stranger – and no, not Talia Al Ghu this time, she's clearly busy. Instead, it's a Catwoman-alike new character and she leaves Jimmy naked with a cat and his destroyed clothes…

Oh and as for that Kryptonite wrapped around Clark Kent we mentioned, it may not be in the preview…Auto Draft…but it does trigger Jimmer Olsen's signal watch. Time for Jimmy and Lois to team up? And who has his supersuit anyway?
