We Demand A Rocket Raccoon Spinoff For The Seeing Being, The Sentient Without Self-Preservation

Two issues in and it's the new Vision. Or, at least, the new Superior Foes Of Spider-Man.

Either way, Rocket by Al Ewing, Adam Gorham and Michael Garland is rocking it. A combination of comics and text narrated a story that the comcis form jumps in and out of, adding textual depth and experience to the story of one bounty hunter, divorced from his Guardians and finding himself forced to deal with the Technet. All of them. And the mess they get him into.

The Technet were the intergalactic bounty hunter team created by Jamie Delano and Alan Davis for the Captain Britain comics, spinning out of the original Special Executive team, created by Alan Moore and David Lloyd for Doctor Who Magazine, who they will one day become. Out of order storytelling is reflected in this issue as the two halves of the team who recombine are from different periods in their respective timelines.

You can see why you might need some text to sort this all out. But it's a very entertaining mishmash of a battle. But, with all such things, to quote Hot Fuzz, there's going to be an awful lot of paperwork.

And a resultant trial, with Rocket in the dock in need of legal representatives. Who feel rather familiar, for those up on a certain Daredevil character co-created by Bill Everett. You may have heard of him.

That's right, The Seeing Being has the power to see things. And has a hot killer girlfriend.

Also, with Al Ewing so involved with creating the detail of the eighth iteration of reality in his other comic books, could we see Originium make its presence known elsewhere? It could join Iso-8, adamantium and unobtanium…

But no. This can't be the only appearance of The Seeing Being, The Sentient Without Self-Preservation. Mini-series now!

Or could the Technet be hiring?

Rocket #2 is published by Marvel Comics today.
