It's Hard to Write Solicitation Copy for Tom King's Batman…

Tom King is notorious for writing his own solicitation copy for comics. And with Batman, he has mastered the fine art of making it all up, letting it have little to do with what's actually inside the upcoming comic, for fear of spoiling his various twists and turns and whether or not Tom has an actual bodyguard. And occasionally having to make Batman #50 returnable as a result when no one gets married — not even Rogue and Gambit.

But pity the poor bookstore solicitation copywriter who has to write much further in advance — before Tom King has told his editor what's coming, let alone DC's marketing department. And think about whoever had to write the following for Tom King's ninth volume as Batman writer. They don't even have a proper cover…
