Man-Bat Rescheduled by DC Comics – But Where is Generation One?

The five-issue Man-Bat miniseries, slated to debut in May with issue #1, won't just be rescheduled and delayed. Instead, DC has confirmed to retailers that it will be resolicited. Planned to be written by Dave Wielgosz, an Assistant Editor for DC and drawn by Batman artist Sumit Kumar, it will now come out in September at the earliest. Possibly later.

At least that's coming out. There is no news at all about Generation One, the first in a planned series of five one-shots, each taking a different generation of DC Super Heres and initially planned to lead up to Generation Five or 5G, and a relaunch and reworking of the DC Universe with new characters taking the lead roles. But all that is very much on the back burner. The Free Comic Book Day that would have launched it, with a reworking of Scott Lobdell and Brett Booth's Flash #750 sequel to Flash Foward, dubbed Generation Zero, would have teed all this off. But that's all been delayed as well.

These are the questions the solicitations asked "what is the previously undocumented "big bang" of the heroic age? What was the real reason behind the Justice Society's retirement? Which hero of the Golden Age makes a shocking transformation into its greatest villain?" Looks like we'll have to wait a lot longer, if at all, to find out.
