Neal Adams Brings A Touch Of Pop To Day And Night Nurse

So I'm doing a little Christmas shopping in London today, when I pick up a copy of Time Out magazine. With this wraparound ad.

I… recognised that that artist. "Isn't it… Neal Adams?" I thought.

And it was. Adams was one of the first comic book creators to exploit the demands of an advertising industry for comic book styled work, that was actually half way decent rather than just a pastiche of a pastiche of a pastiche.

And although this work for Night Nurse and Day Nurse cold medications, through Grey Healthcare (an advertising agency that I used to work for as a copywriter twenty years ago) is based in the Pop Art explosion of the sixties, via horror films and comics, it is maybe a little more original, modern and fresh than the agency were expecting.

And now running across the London Underground… here are the proofs.
