Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 15th February 2015 – Dah Dah Dah Dah-Dah Dah Dah-Dah Dahhh

rossdarthboba1

This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait to the weekend to get this week's comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.

Three weeks ago, Star Wars #1 was the first comic on a Bleeding Cool Bestseller List to get the top slot from every single retailer. This week, Darth Vader #1 is the second, with Walking Dead right behind… and even last week's Star Wars makes it in.

1. Darth Vader #1
2. Walking Dead #137
3. Amazing Spider-Man #14
4. Thor #5
5. Harley Quinn Valentines Day Special #1
6. Batman Eternal #15
7. Guardians Of The Galaxy #24
8. All New X-Men #36
9. Spider-Woman #4
10. Star Wars #2

Thanks to the following retailers

Who had this to say.

Crazy day…..Our 2nd best Wednesday in 5 years.  Though Darth Vader #1 took first , The Young Variant was second in sales.  Harley Quinn both Valentines Covers take 3rd and 4th place while Walking Dead came in 5th.  Edge of Spider Verse takes a spot #2 4th print.   This was a AWESOME week as more new customers are coming into the store.  We have a great opportunity to foster the comic book culture with every new comic book fan and that's a great feeling to have!

Darth Vader force choked all the competition this week including Amazing Spider-Man (not nice all part of the HOUSE OF DISNEY guys). Thor still doing great and the surprise contender of the week was Frozen #1 which was #9 on the list.

X-Men back-issues were huge. I had a couple heavy hitters come in over the weekend. I had to replenish the bin two days in a row.

It's astounding how Marvel's Star Wars has soooooo out done Dark Horse's. Where were these folks?

What a week in comics in New Hothshire! Marvel's off to a rocking start with the Star Wars line! Lots of people coming in for Darth Vader #1. It's been a huge draw for customers new and old, probably because it actually focuses on Vader, unlike many of the Dark Horse series that starred the big bad. Many customers are snagging up Star Wars #1 and #2 with it as well.

Walking Dead continues to be a non-stop juggernaut even with some competition from Marvel with Vader and Amazing Spider-man. People come out in droves for this book! Great to see Southern Bastards make the list after a bit of a delay for the new issue. It was definitely worth the wait.

As I said before, Marvel's Star Wars is the big back issue seller. Just when I think everyone who'd be picking it up has picked it up, ten more show up and snag the first two issues. We've also sold out of Spider-Verse Team Up and Scarlet Spiders. Never thought I'd see the day where a book featuring Ben Reilly and Kaine would be a sold out hit again!

Good week. Darth Vader 1 did nearly the same amount of sales as Star Wars 1 meaning it is the number one seller this week. Batman Eternal still running hot. Really going to miss DC's weeklies when they are done. Marvel's weekly Wolverines series sells less than even the weekly Earth's End and Wolverines is only on its sixth issue. Walking Dead is far and away Image's best selling title. Thor still holding strong.

The upcoming movie Suicide Squad hasn't even started filming yet but their back issues are in high demand. New 52 Flash and the previous series of the Flash selling well. There is this little movie called Age of Ultron coming out this year making the Avengers back issues take off. T.V. and movies are really influencing back issue prices. With DC moving more away from continuity and Marvel perhaps having a re launch with Secret Wars I look for this trend to continue.

First time I can recall a book that came out the previous week still holding on the TOP 10 list. (Star Wars #2) – the Star Wars mania continues as Marvel delivers DARTH VADER #1 a tight tie-in to the STAR WARS #1/STAR WARS #2

It's all about the CIVIL WAR. As soon as the SPIDER-MAN SONY/MARVEL announcement became official ~ speculators jumped all over CIVIL WAR and especially AMAZING SPIDER-MAN civil war tie-in issues…
