Casting Roundup: The Why, Jennifer Ehle? Why? And Pierce Brosnan Is In Everything Edition

jennifer-ehle Today's casting roundup is brought to you by Jennifer Ehle and Pierce Brosnan, who will be in every movie you see from now on.

Jennifer Ehle aka Lizzie Bennet herself, has found her next project, and it's just making me weep and question everything. She's joining Twilight fanfiction adaptation 50 Shades of Grey, to play Dakota Johnson's mother. This is wrong on so many levels. [Deadline]

• In slightly less depressing Jennifer Ehle news, she is also among the cast joining John Travolta heist thriller The Forger, which also stars Christopher Plummer and Tye Sheridan. Travolta plays a criminal who buys his way out of jail to spend time with his sick son but then must contend with the even bigger criminals who paid for it. Anson Mount, Abigail Spencer and Marcus Thomas are also now part of the film that began filming this week in Boston. [Variety]

Angelina Jolie continues to line up an impressive young cast for her WWII true life drama Unbroken starring Jack O'Connell as Olympian turned POW survivor. Garrett Hedlund, Domnhall Gleeson, Finn Wittrock and Alex Russell have already joined the cast and now she has added John Magaro as well. Filming begins this month in October. [Deadline]

Milla Jojovich is set to lead political thriller Survivor, which will also star Pierce Brosnan, Angela Bassett and Emma Thompson. She'll play a US State Department employee posted to London and tasked with stopping terrorists from entering the US. Naturally, she soon finds herself suspected of aligning with the enemy and goes on the run to prove her innocence. [Deadline]

• Speaking of Pierce Brosnan, he stars in indie comedy How to Make Love Like an Englishman which has now also added Salma Hayek as the female lead. Brosnan will play a ladies man who meets his match in Hayek's character after he impregnates her stepsister (Jessica Alba). Yuck. Do we need another one of these movies? [Deadline]

• And let's just stay with Pierce Brosnan because we're not done with him yet. He's in another movie called The Coup, this time opposite Owen Wilson, and today Lake Bell has joined the cast as well. A curious collection of actors, as the film is about an American family living in an Asian country who get caught up in a violent revolution. I'm just glad that movies like this exist to ask the very important question: Won't someone think of the white people?! [THR]

• Suddenly-everywhere Brenton Thwaites, who at one point seemed like he would never land a big movie despite being shortlisted for almost all of them, has now landed another one. He'll play the lead in Alex Proyas' mythical epic Gods of Egypt, which has Gerard Butler, Nickolaj Coster-Waldeau and Geoffrey Rush playing larger than life characters. [Deadline]

• Fact-based drama La Vida Robot has added Big Time Rush star Carlos Pena in a lead role. George Lopez also stars in the film about four undocumented Mexican students in an American high school who form a robotics team and ultimately face off against some nerds from MIT in the National Underwater Robotics Competition. [THR]

David Ayer's WWII tank thriller Fury has been filming for a couple of weeks now, but has made one late cast addition. Jason Isaacs has joined Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Shia LaBeouf and Jay Bernthal in playing the most senior member of the American tank named Fury that runs across a desperate German division. [THR]

• Indie thriller Shiva and May has cast Jessica Biel and Girls star Zosia Mamet to play long-lost sisters, and Edi Gathegi, Joe Anderson and Kate Burton to play supporting roles. Biel will play a yoga instructor who gets dragged into the dark world of her newly discovered sister, who's a sex worker with an unsavory boyfriend (Anderson). Harry Hamlin will also have a cameo described as "kinky." [The Wrap]
