ComICA On Saturday

true_storiesAnother busy weekend for ComICA, the largest English-speaking comics festival in the world, taking place in London right now. A conference on graphic novels and young people has just started down the road from me at Roheampton college. I would have gone but a) looking after kids b) looking after sick wife and c) it's £75! Nevertheless, we can all follow along with the Twitter hashtag, #IBBY10, where Alison Waller has already been twittering. Keynote speakers include  Janet Evans, Paul Gravett, Marcia Williams and David Fickling.

Rather more affordably, The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers' Gilbert Shelton is signing at Gosh! Comics in London  today, with the release from Knockabout of his new Fat Freddy's Cat Omnibus compilation, from 3pm.

And Philip Marsden is running a comics workshop this afternoon alongside his True Stories exhibition at the Riverside Gallery in Richmond from 1pm.
