If you've ever wanted to see a film that is essentially Grumpy Old Men meets A Night at the Roxbury (and really, who hasn't), then you're going to want to pay attention to this one.
News coming from Toronto Sun is that screen legends Ernest Borgnine and Mickey Rooney have gotten together to film a movie about two roommates who turn their nursing home into a nightclub. How crazy this nightclub becomes remains unknown, but I wouldn't bet on seeing any disgusting make out sessions between the young and old like in Not Another Teen Movie. Writer/producer Larry Delrose of the Italian American Films group is hoping that his movie will portray Italian Americans in a positive way (as opposed to the hurtful Mafia films) and is being described as a film that "presents the idea that one is never too young or too old to find inspiration and meaning in life."
Apparently, the movie is already completed and will premiere at the Phoenix Film Festival next month, so we'll know soon enough if it's something to look out for.
