If you've ever owned a dog you probably know what great friends they make, and how tragic it is to lose them. Personally I've only ever owned cats, which are the animal world equivalent of your fat, unemployed cousin who sleeps on your sofa all day in a dirty vest and complains when you run out of beer. Tim Burton's Frankenweenie is the story of a boy called Victor whose dog Sparky is killed in an accident, prompting Victor to bring him back to life through the magic of science.
The film was originally made as a live-action short by Burton in 1984, and it got him fired from his position as an animator for Disney, the company that is now releasing the feature-length animated film.
The first promotional photos were released today through Entertainment Weekly, and that little dead dog looks extremely adorable. We also posted some less official photos a few weeks ago. Brendon was lucky enough to get a tour of the studio with Tim Burton and we'll be publishing coverage from that tour closer to the release date.
