JJ Abrams Regrets His Silly Mystery Box Games Over The Villain Of Star Trek Into Darkness

Well, I don't think anyone's surprised he regrets the way this all went down, but I have to say I kind of agree with JJ Abrams on this one, as he explains to MTV how and why it happened the way it did.

I don't know if he was actively trying to create a bigger mystery than there was, and sure, this is mostly just PR backtracking, but I also think it doesn't make much sense, like he says, to come out and give away a plot point that happens halfway through a movie. The state of fandom has gotten to a point where people are actively spoiling the moviegoing experience for themselves in their ever-increasing hunger to know everything about a project before it ever comes out. Hell, I'm guilty of this too, and I'm not sure it's going to change anytime soon.
