Like Doctor Who? Get Yourself To London's South Bank. And Bring A Kid.

Okay, this is a thing. The British Film Institute, at London's South Bank Centre is having a bit of a Doctor Who thing on, come Wednesday the 2nd of June. The kind of thing some people might cross continents to get to. And they won't even let you book tickets online. It;s person or phone only. Oh and you have to bring a child…

Firstly, at noon in the foyer, the BFI will host a Doctor Who workshop and mini-exhibition with artwork, costumes and objects from episodes of the show, with members of the Doctor Who production team to demonstrate how the show is created – ideally suited for younger fans. Tickets are free.

Then, at both 1.30pm and 2pm, the BFI will be showing the next Saturday's episode of Doctor Who, Vincent And The Doctor, written by Richard Curtis (Blackadder, Four Weddings, Love Actually) Richard will be there for both screenings taking questions, and giving answers.

And so will Karen Gillan.

Hmm. Can I imagine a number of dads with their children rather than mums? And certain Doctor Who fans trying to hire out children from their relatives? And some of you booking adult and child seats for a flight to England – if the volcanic ash is lifted, of course.

Or, if you can't make it to the South Bank, and fear that any attempt to find a child will see you put on a register, why not try popping into your local branch of Tesco supermarket.
