Back in December, Bryan Singer made it pretty clear that Anna Paquin's portrayal of Rogue has been cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past. He explained that she had only been intended to appear in one sequence, adding:
Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it.
No, I don't know if he's had a change of heart, has come under orders from Fox or just overlooked a detail when making his original claims, but Singer has now changed his story. He has told Empire that, while the Rogue scene remains cut:
It does not mean that we won't see her in the film
Stuck into a flashback? A dream sequence? Standing around in the background of a scene that remains intact?
Empire have released their new issue with 25 different covers. At the head of this story, you'll have seen, was the Rogue cover. That's what Singer meant by "in the materials."
False advertising? Well, I don't know about that. Maybe we can form a Paquin club and try a class action to test the theory out.
