Warner Bros. pulls collectible glasses called out in report for containing lead, cadmium
Warner Bros. has decided to recall collectible glasses depicting well-known characters from its films and comic books after a study found they contain dangerous levels of lead. On Monday, the Associated Press published a study of collectable glassware revealing high levels of lead and cadmium in drinking glasses depicting characters from "The Wizard of Oz" and superheroes from D.C. Comics, which is owned by Warner Bros.

Here's another entry looking at the science behind the principles mentioned in the Flash Comics of the 1960's. In Flash #109 the Mirror Master returns and uses his mirrors again to befuddle both The Flash, and inadvertently Barry Allen. Even as a kid I could see the "science" of the Mirror Master was pure fantasy, but there were some other aspects of the plot that have some roots in reality.

These two films were destined to dismantle every trope that made superhero movies cool. No one would be able to take Batman seriously because of Kick-Ass' teenage vigilantes. Iron Man and Wolverine would be relics when contrasted against the slick and self-aware antics of Scott Pilgrim. It was all over. Sure, we had said it would be over the previous spring as Watchmen threatened to deconstruct vigilante heroics, but this time was different. This was a one-two punch, and audiences were finally ready to be in on the commentary.
