One of the many innovations of this Moffat-n-Matt era of Doctor Who has been the minisode, thosee little snack-sized bonus bits of Doctor Who. They grew out of the tradition of special Who material for events like the Children in Need telethon but quickly became an attraction in their own right.
But as exciting as they sometimes were, I doubt none of the others was as keenly anticipated as this one.
So, along it comes: The Night of the Doctor, a prologue to next week's 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor. We're coming off a mother of a cliffhanger ending – could this really do anything to advance the suspense?
