My very favourite movie trailer was for Trainspotting. It didn't feature anything from the film at all, but it set the tone so perfectly.

Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie did something similar for Phonogram: The Singles Club as well, an original one page strip that advertised the comic so very effectively. One of the better ads for comics I've seen.

And now they're doing it again. For their new Image comic that is, not Phonogram 3: Immaterial Girl. Because yhis is The Wicked And The Divine, published by Image Comics in June and with the following ad appearing in Previews, out tomorrow.
