This Week's Red Sonja #23 Reveals Why You Should Never Trust a God

Red Sonja may soon be getting the reboot treatment, but the current ongoing series is still happening with a new issue hitting stores on Wednesday. And there are still some lessons to be learned from the comic, such as this week's Red Sonja #23, which teaches an important lesson: never trust a god.

In the issue, hitting stores on Wednesday, the titular Sonja is confronted by Minasha, goddess of a mostly forgotten religion. Minasha has at least one devoted follower, one who has prayed to her to deliver Red Sonja, who slew one of his sons in battle.

But though Minasha does deliver Sonja as promised, all is not as it seems, as she will not allow the king to order his soldiers to seize her.

Many people have met their end while facing the She-Devil and her sword… and usually, that's the end of it. But now, Sonja is compelled by a minor god to compensate a man for the death of his eldest son. To settle the score, she'll have to retrieve a family heirloom from a vicious beast… but it could be worse. (After all, some heroes are forced to perform twelve labors, not just one!) Monsters, treasure, swordplay and gods — all in "The Axe at the Top of the Mountain!"
In Shops: Nov 28, 2018
SRP: $3.99
