Will Titan Books Publish New Lisbeth Salander Graphic Novels?

Titan Books is currently publishing the French graphic novel adaptations of Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, which actually predated Vertigo Comics' adaptations by a few years. Some fans prefer the more quirky, European style of the French graphic novels by writer Sylvain Runberg and artists Jose Homs and Manolo Carot to Vertigo's version of the same stories.

The original novels have become a worldwide phenomenon due to the unexpected popularity of its heroine Lisbeth Salander, the angry, antisocial hacker who plays vigilante against rapists, criminals and corrupt people in power who think themselves untouchable. The original movie adaptations from Denmark made Noomi Rapace a star for her uncompromising, almost feral portrayal of Salander. David Fincher's English movie version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig was also well received.

Stieg Larsson originally planned up to 10 novels in the series before his untimely death in 2004, and following a legal tussle between his partner Eva Gabrielsson and his family over an unfinished fourth novel and possible notes for further books left in her care, his publisher and family, who inherited the rights through Swedish law, announced they would continue the novel series with novelist David Lagercrantz.

Two new novels by Lagercrantz have been published: The Girl in the Spider's Web in 2015 and, just a few months ago, The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye. There's a lot riding on the new novels as Hollywood has been keen on continuing the movies by skipping over the rest of the trilogy and starting afresh with adapting The Girl in the Spider's Web, having announced Claire Foy would be playing Lisbeth Salander.

Titan Books is currently promoting the English translation of the French graphic novel adaptations of the trilogy. And since 2016, the same team has been creating new graphic novel stories starring Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist that are separate from David Lagercrantz's novels.

Now the question is whether Titan will publish these new comics stories once they're done bringing out the original trilogy graphic novels. While there has been no official announcement, Titan does have the license to publish the French graphic novel series, so there may be some news in the future.
