The Walking Dead: Negan Lives Tops the Bleeding Cool Bestseller List

This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait till the weekend to get this week's comics. Though thanks to DC, Tuesday Titans too. As DC leave Diamond, this looks like it will be the only cross-direct market chart going. If any other retailers would like to report their top sellers, please contact richjohnston@bleedingcool.com. – as this week, it was all about Negan.

Negan Lives tops the top ten bestselling comics of the week

A new Walking Dead one=shot send free to retailers by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard killed, especially in a week with no new Marvel or DC Comics titles – though notably DC Comics still had some presence in sales from last week.

  1. Negan Lives #1
  2. The Boys: Dear Becky #2
  3. Goddamned Virgin Brides #1
  4. Batman #93
  5. Buffy The Vampire Slayer #15
  6. Vampirella #10
  7. Justice League #47
  8. Superman #22
  9. Devils Highway #1
  10. King of Nowhere #3

Thanks to the following retailers…

Who had this to say…

Graham Crackers Comics: Nice timing for Robert Kirkman to release 2 books – really saved the week. Firepower is spectacular and I had such high hopes for it to do outstanding in the market place with Kirkman's genius plan to release FCBD book then a FULL trade right after at the bargain price of $9.99. Then COVID happened and threw all of that to hell, still this 'SKIP' week by MARVEL & DC actually helped the exposure a bit, for the customers that bothered coming in 'I'll just see you next week" was a common thread on the phone calls asking what was in their hold box.
Best of luck to Mark in putting together a TOP 10 with all the eclectic new/old books that sold at various shops across the states this week!

Rodman Comics: My thanks to Image and Robert Kirkman for sending out Negan #1 this week. It was of course easily our top selling comic for the week. Marvel fans here are antsy about the lack of Marvel product every other week. Hoping Marvel has not turned to many of their fans off. Previously released 80th anniversaries one-shots from DC helped fill the void of no new DC and Marvel titles.

Notable sales:

  • HOWARD THE DUCK #1 CGC 9.8 $125 Hip HOP variant – 1st Gwenpool – modern HOWARD the DUCK series
