Watch WWE Champion Kofi Kingston Apologise to Kieron Gillen at Boom! Studios Panel

At the Boom! Studios: Discover Yours Panel, fans got to hear from creators like Lev Grossman (The Magicians), Lilah Sturges (Lumberjanes), Carly Usdin (The Avant-Guards), Sina Grace (Go Go Power Rangers) and Kieron Gillen (Once & Future). And, as we told you, everyone in the audience got a free advance copy of Once & Future #1 (that's already $65 on eBay).

But that wasn't the biggest surprise.

The panel was interrupted by WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston, who became WWE Champion at Wrestlemania and is one of the most popular wrestlers in the world – I mean, I haven't heard of him because, well, you know. But I can Google. Or read what Jude wrote.

It turns out the champ was a tad miffed he hadn't been featured in a full-length WWE comic book from Boom! Studios yet.

Kingston proceeded to not only get on stage but also get on the table and demand Boom! Studios rectify this horrible mistake – but not before apologizing to Gillen, Grace, Usdin, Sturges and Grossman for taking over the panel once it was announced that a WWE: New Day original graphic novel was scheduled for release in 2020.

However, apologies were quickly withdrawn as Boom!'s President of Publishing & Marketing Filip Sablik put his own, uh, spin on the iconic New Day chant.

No word on where Kingston stands on the Once & Future #1 vs Die #1 great sales prediction debate, though we'll be sure to follow up.

And thanks to the wonders of Boom's Arune Singh, we've got the video evidence of this event:
