Why You Should Listen To The Voices In Your Head

image 1 coverMillicent Barnes writes,

Since comics began the internal monologue has been as much a part of the medium as its more popular sibling the thought bubble.

It's the first thing you read in any classic DC or Marvel story and it's the last chill you remember from the legendary banned EC horror vaults.

Monologue, traditionally the voice inside a character's head, was crucial in drawing the reader in. Recent years have seen this narrative device derided in favour of long winded thought bubble exposition where in most cases a single line of monologue succinctly and successfully tells you what's happening and how everyone feels about it.

A Kickstarter from SjMcCune sets out to readdress this imbalance.

The comic centres around a Hitchcockian heroine and races across a succession of WTF now scenarios and it's all told through the narrative device of the internal monologue.
