Will DC's Dark Nights: Metal Catch A Digital Code?

DarkKnights_Metal_spread_ad_fnl.indd

DC Comics' copying of Marvel introduction of "Buy Physical, Get Digital" download codes to their $3.99 titles has received some criticism regarding the unpredictability of it all.

Dark Nights: Metal, despite having a $4.99 cover price and a strong DC Universe presence, is not solicited with a digital code. Neither are August's $4.99 Annuals for Green Arrow and Supergirl.

However, yesterday's $4.99 Trinity, Wonder Woman Annuals, and the Teen Titans Lazarus Contract Special, all had digital codes when published. And were solicited so.

Is this an error? Or is this policy going forward?

Digital codes are already absent from DC's Young Animal and Wildstorm lines, even at the $3.99 price point.  Given Marvel's recent affirmation of the value that same-issue digital codes bring to the industry, and return to the programme that they initiated, is DC Comics stepping back so soon?
