Konami Addresses The Current State Of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Organized Play

Konami issues a new statement today addressing the current state of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game's organized play and promo events. Ever since COVID-19 hit the world, all of Konami's events for the TCG were taken off the grid and either canceled or postponed until more info came out. It's been a little chaotic, but the company now has a plan to move forward with Remote Duel play. You can read the full statement below as more information will become available on June 2nd at this link. Best of luck to those of you looking to take part in the new version of gameplay in this weird and crazy time we live in.

We hope you and your loved ones remain healthy and safe. As we continue to closely monitor developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to our role in prioritizing the overall health and safety of our fan base, Tournament Store owners and staff, and all business partners. In keeping with the guidelines and recommendations put forth by government health authorities, we believe it is in the best interests of our community to extend the postponement of our Organized Play and promotional events through Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

We are aware of the steps that communities across the nation have taken to gradually reopen and share our community's enthusiasm to resume Organized Play and promotional events. As circumstances evolve throughout the coming weeks, we may provide another update relating to the status of local Organized Play and promotional events prior to June 30, as we review government health authority guidelines.

To support Official Tournament Stores during this challenging time, we have introduced Remote Duel, a new Organized Play initiative to run sanctioned tournaments using Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel LinksLegacy of the DuelistLegacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, and a Duelist's own card collection.
