Persona 5 Royal is Being Helmed by Persona 4 Golden Director Daiki Itoh

Sega and Atlus will be unveiling more information about Persona 5 Royal on May 9th, and we already know a bit about the coming reveals thanks to the May 9th edition of Famitsu magazine. Famitsu often publishes thumbnail previews of its next issue on the Tuesday before release, and like always, we've gotten some hints about upcoming announcements thanks to those thumbnails.

The May 9th issue includes an interview with Persona 5 Royal's development team, including Producer Kazuhisa Wada, Director Daiki Itoh, and Character Designer Shigenori Soejima.

Several members of the Persona 5 Royal dev team are Persona alumns, as reported by Dualshockers:

The interview will feature Persona 5 Royal Producer Kazuhisa Wada, Director Daiki Itoh, and Character Designer Shigenori Soejima revealing brand new information.

Kazuhisa Wada took over the role of overseeing the Persona series in 2016 as Katsura Hoshino now works on Studio Zero's projects. Daiki Itoh previously directed Persona 4 Golden on PS Vita.

Just a few weeks back, Sega and Atlus announced Persona 5 Royal, which includes a new character, new gameplay features, and new encounters with the various Phantom Thieves. The game will be getting a Western release shortly after the initial launch in Japan.

They followed that announcement with Persona 5 Scramble the Phantom Thieves which is a musou game for the Nintendo Switch.
