The Anatomy Of Running On A James Bond Cover

One of my favorite parts of these process art stories is seeing the original thumbnail and then see how much it changed on the way to the final product. Here we see Aaron Campbell's retailer exclusive cover of James Bond #1 for Black Cat Comics. The background image at the top doesn't change much, maybe he was working with photo reference there. The two running figures change some with the one on the right seeming to run with more urgency on the finished cover. And of course on the large image the gun moves out towards the reader more, the tie flattens down a bit and the front leg reverses. You can see that a lot of thought went into the final piece on just how people run.

You can order this cover here.
