2012 Award Winning Stop-Motion Puppet Short House Of Monsters To Expand
The year was 1999 and I was set up at the San Diego Comic Con with copies of two books I wrote and published… Bloodlust and Force. To my left on the endcap was a brand new company called Crossgen. Opposite of me was Tone Rodriguez and Joshua Dysart with their book Violent Messiahs. Then was a table shared by Don McGregor and Dean Zachery followed by a booth for a book called Little Red Hot and the writer/artist Dawn Brown. It was a fun and active aisle at the convention and I kind of kept an eye on everyone from there.
Having read both Little Red Hot series from Image and then Ravenous, I knew Dawn was an extremely talented woman who would go on to do some amazing things. This morning I came across a Kickstarter for a stop-motion puppet series called House Of Monsters created by Dawn Brown. It made me think of the Rankin/Bass productions and the Mad Monster Party.

In 2012 they put together a short film of House Of Monsters and took out on the festival circuit and it did very well. It also grew a large fan base who began asking for more. Now the creative team wants to turn it into a stop-motion web series.
The Kickstarter is to fund two episodes of the series. Below you will see some of the concept art and a video on how to make a puppet head. Follow the link to their Kickstarter to see more. There is only two days left to back it, so if you're like me and want to see more of this… help them out.
