This new video shows screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, director Timur Bekmambetov and producer Tim Burton making a number of comparisons between superheroes, particularly Batman, and Abraham Lincoln.
At least, their Abraham Lincoln, the vampire hunter. Though the way they talk about him, it would seem that they mean yer actual president there. They're treating their supernatural story like it's history.
His axe is his utility belt? What?
I guess superheroes are hot. And the idea of a monster-slaying president obviously has any amount of appeal – just look at Bush's approval ratings in early 2002 for evidence of that fantasy getting a big thumbs up.
Anyway, this film could be fun. Here's hoping.
