Aquaman Writer Will Beall Plumbs The Depths With Creature From the Black Lagoon

The Universal Monsters shared film universe is starting to take shape. They have made the announcement that Aquaman scribe Will Beall will be writing a new version of The Creature From The Black Lagoon. This film will join The Mummy film coming out June 9th starring Tom Cruise in a new shared universe of films. Beall has also written films such as Gangster Squad and and The Legend Of Conan, and was a producer on the TV series Training Day that starred the late Bill Paxton. Chris Morgan and Alex Kurtzman are producing Creature, as they are the driving force of the shared universe. The original followed a group of scientists as they traveled through the Amazon and discovered the Creature in the waters. No cast has been found as of yet. This is a great next step after The Mummy, I would save the real heavy hitters like Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolf Man (please, please, PLEASE do not ruin Wolf Man) for later. There is a lot to work with, so I will keep my fingers crossed on this one.

First seen on Deadline.
