Chadwick Boseman Does Wakanda Salute Because Mom Told Him To

Chadwick Boseman maybe wasn't expecting the worldwide response to Marvel Studios film Black Panther when he signed on.

The first choice to play the role of T'Challa from day one, the actor has come to terms (kinda) with the amount of times he'll do the "Wakanda Forever" salute from here on out. Except for when he won two awards during the MTV Movie & TV ceremony, where he did NOT do the salute.

Black Panther co-star Michael B. Jordan (who took home the popcorn statue for Best Villain) joked during his speech that Chadwick was "tired of doing the salute, so stop askin' him," much to the disappointment of the audience.

Today over on Boseman's Twitter, he posted that his mom was also disappointed that he didn't do the salute at the ceremony. He's currently in Milan, and so he made up for the omission with a short clip of him striking the Wakanda Forever pose in front of the Arco della Pace a Milano.

We approve, Mamma Boseman.
