Cinemax Commits To A Second Season Of Outcast Ahead Of Series Premiere

Outcast Pilot 101TVLine reports Cinemax has already given the upcoming series Outcast a second season commitment.

The series, based on the comic book by creator/writer Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, follows Kyle Barnes, a young man plagued by demonic possession all his life. With the help of Reverend Anderson, a preacher with demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister and Gabriel Bateman star.

The early renewal is a huge vote of confidence in the series, but not completely unusual in cable television. Starz's Ash vs. the Evil Dead also received a second season commitment a few days before its series premiere. Strong support like this from a network or outlet is the holy grail for a television show.

Outcast's first season debuts on June 3rd.
