Clive Barker To Bring Weaveworld To The CW

BarkerClive Barker will serve as an executive producer on a drama series based on his fantasy/horror novel Weaveworld.

According to Deadline, the project is being developed for The CW and will update the original novel to feature "an app designer" who "teams up with a young pastry chef who has just discovered that [she is] destined to be guardian of a mythological realm that can be accessed through a portal in an old Savannah mansion. Together, they fight an epic battle with evil forces who are vying for control of the magical world."

Yeah, that sounds like The CW's wheelhouse alright.

The original novel concerned a pair of strangers brought together by a carpet containing the secret world of The Seekerkind, a group of magic users hiding from ordinary humans as well as demons and the like.

With shows like The Vampire Diaries and the DC Comics-inspired Arrow and The Flash, it certainly makes sense to bring some of Barker's work to the network. Now, what other Barker books would make good television shows?
