Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare And More Join American Gods As Cameras Roll

agsgaimanStarz announced earlier today that actors Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, Chris Obi and Mousa Kraish have joined the cast of their adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods.

The show, which began production this week, stars Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, bodyguard to Ian McShane's Mr. Wednesday; an old god marshaling his forces against the modern gods of technology and fame.

Leachman will play Zorya, the eldest of Vechernyaya sisters who "watch over the constellations, guarding against horrors forgotten by modern man." Stormare will play Czernobog, a Slavic god of darkness and evil reluctant to join Mr. Wednesday's war against the modern gods of technology and fame.

Obi, meanwhile, joins as the Egyptian god of the dead, Anubis, with Kraish as The Jinn, described as  "a mythical creature of the fire who understands a person's deepest desires better than they do."

American Gods will debut on Starz in 2017.
